There's no "right" answer here. I was just wondering what sort of situations you most like to RP. I know many people like more than one of these, but is there one you like the most? Again, this poll is just a question, and will not cause anything in the game to change. No right or wrong answers!

Hmm, I love both romance and action, but, in the end, I have to say character exploration. I love poking and prodding characters until they give me their secrets.

Yes. I definitely like a smattering of all of these, but I'd have to say that I am the least compelled by action/adventure. Er...fight scenes are just HORRIBLY hard to write when you have more than just one character involved. And, the more characters you get, the stickier it gets. Yikes.

Oh, I'm sure I'd be terrible at writing an action sequence, but they sure are fun to read when they're done well.

I haven't been able to rp enough of these situations yet to be able to choose a favorite. Kenshin is aching for romance with you-know-who (looks around for Aurora!) and Chou is itching for action (both police and well, you know the Chou....)
I am finding that I really like to try to stretch my creative writing skills in rpgland. I would like to do more action so I can better understand how it works with the interaction of other players. I like writing action, but rp is quite a different experience, ne?
Character exploration - well isn't that what brings most of us to fanfiction?
::goes off to try to figure out how to start a poll::

Well I actually love a Romance/Angst combination, but that wasn't up there...
So far I like the character exploration myself, even though I really am quite new to the world of rpging. I doubt if I'll ever be as good as some the more experienced players...
I am finding it challenging to put myself in the mindset of a 19/20 year old man. But that's what makes it so much fun!

I wanted to vote for humor, but I don't think that it's my -favorite- per se...just something that I particularly enjoy. ::evil cackle:: Omasu is the first down-and-out character that I've ever played...my other RP exp is mostly with stuff like Diplomacy and NationStates. So naturally I went for a character that is a bit like me, and I've been playing her a bit like me as well. Which is fine, since she is a bit like me, heh. But Eiji—though I haven't done too much with him yet—promises to be quite fun. I can definitely say I won't be basing my characterizations of Eiji off of me. Hehe.
Anywho. Character exploration seems to be winning! It's really fun, and really important, and all, but I guess I kind of look at it as incorporating all of the above answers. So I guess that's what my answer of "other" is: the use of more than one of the above with character development to keep the story personal and "real."
/overanalysis. ;D

Perhaps I should have clarified. When I said "character self-exploration" I meant RPing your character only by itself. Alone. Without interaction with other characters. Otherwise, it would be "character exploration".
Some people just would rather their characters go along all day and never interact with another character. That is what I mean here.

I put in for "Mystery" only because I'm a sucker for reading them, participating in them ... like those "Mystery Dinner Train" shows. But really, it's everything. Angst, romance, action/adventure, etc. I think a good combonation makes for the best plot(s) of all.

"Other" for me.
Thematically I like everything. I would like to see more action, honestly... but my two c haracters don't really lend themselves to fist fights and matches at the moment. (However, watch out for Shinichi. I think he's looking to spar. heh.)
So I guess variety to me is important... but as long as I am having fun exploring a character's psyche and personality while interacting with others I'm generally content.
